The IMX662-AAMR is a Type 1/2.8, 2.12 MP CMOS image sensor for monochrome security cameras. It combines a 1920 × 1080 recommended recording format with STARVIS 2 back-illuminated pixel technology, addressing applications that need Full HD image acquisition across visible-light and near-infrared regions.
Its technical identity is defined by the combination of monochrome operation, 2.9 μm square pixels and STARVIS 2 technology. Sony specifies that STARVIS 2 provides high picture quality in visible and near-infrared light regions, while offering a wider dynamic range than STARVIS pixels of the same size in a single exposure. The sensor also includes Clear HDR and Digital Overlap HDR functions for scenes containing bright and dark areas.
The IMX662-AAMR supports all-pixel scanning, 2 × 2 adjacent-pixel binning and window-cropping modes, giving camera developers options to match image output to the acquisition task. Full HD output reaches 90 frame/s in 10-bit mode or 60 frame/s in 12-bit mode. CSI-2 serial output, RAW10/RAW12 formats and selectable two- or four-lane operation support integration with embedded processing platforms.
The IMX662-AAMR is intended for security cameras requiring monochrome Full HD imaging in variable illumination. Its STARVIS 2 pixel technology, HDR functions and high sensitivity support image capture in visible-light and near-infrared regions. For transportation systems, Sony identifies the sensor for rolling-shutter imaging of low-speed vehicles and for compact coverage areas such as car-park entrances.
