When Sibel Yorulmaz-Cokugur received the Sony Device Sales and Marketing Partner Award FY25, it was more than a personal recognition. It reflected decades of commitment, deep technical knowledge, and a partnership built on trust.
We spoke with Sibel about her journey, her work within the Sony ecosystem, and what this award truly represents.
27 Years in the Sony Ecosystem
Sibel has been working within the Sony ecosystem for 27 years, a remarkable span of time in an industry that never stands still.
Over the years, she has specialised in Sony’s image sensor and microdisplay technologies, supporting a wide range of industrial and high-performance imaging applications. From demanding industrial systems to advanced visual technologies, her focus has always been on understanding both the technology and the application behind it.
A Role That Connects Technology and Application
Her daily work combines strategic coordination and hands-on technical support.
“I work closely with our sales team to understand customer requirements, guide product selection, and support application needs,” Sibel explains. “At the same time, I coordinate closely with Sony to stay aligned on sensor updates and long-term partnership goals.”
Her position sits right at the intersection between customer requirements and Sony’s technological development – ensuring that projects are not only technically sound, but also sustainable over time.
Curiosity as a Starting Point
When asked what first brought her into the industry, Sibel’s answer is simple: curiosity.
“I have always been fascinated by how imaging technologies work and how they enable innovation across industries. That curiosity still motivates me today.”
This curiosity about how things work and how they can be improved still guides her approach today.
Lessons from Complex Projects
Throughout her career, several demanding customer projects left a lasting impression.
“Some projects required not just knowledge, but persistence, collaboration, and a solution-oriented mindset,” she says. “Those experiences shaped the way I work today: listen carefully, think long-term, and focus on solutions that last.”
Rather than looking for short-term fixes, Sibel emphasises reliability and sustainable outcomes. This is something customers value deeply in complex imaging projects.
A Rare Recognition
This is the first time Sibel has received this specific Sony partner award. It is also the first and only award of its kind given by Sony to a distribution partner so far, which makes it so special and meaningful.
“It reflects the strength of the partnership,” she notes, “and the trust built over many years.”
What the Sony Partnership Means for Customers
For customers of Restar Framos, the Sony partnership goes beyond component supply.
“It means direct access to deep product knowledge, early insight into technology roadmaps, and strong technical background,” Sibel explains. “We support customers on a daily basis, help them plan long-term, and act as a bridge between their application requirements and Sony’s technological capabilities.”
Going beyond expectations, in practice, often means identifying potential challenges early – before they become obstacles – and addressing them proactively.
Advice for Long-Term Success
When asked what advice she would give to someone who wants to build a similar path, her answer reflects the way she works:
“Long-term success comes from reliability, transparency, and the willingness to go the extra mile.”
More Than Individual Performance
While the award recognises Sibel personally, those who work with her know that she never works in isolation. She continuously shares her knowledge with colleagues, supports team discussions, and encourages others to deepen their technical understanding. Her experience strengthens not only customer projects, but also the people around her.
In many ways, Sibel represents the working spirit at Restar Framos: committed, technically grounded, supportive, and focused on building lasting partnerships.
And while this award marks an important milestone, it is ultimately another step in a journey that continues – together with Sony, with colleagues, and with customers worldwide.
